Groundhog Day! Oh What Fun!

We spent all this week reading stories about groundhogs, writing about groundhogs, and predicting if we thought the groundhog would see his shadow.  Of course since we are from Georgia, we checked out our groundhog in Atlanta.  We were very happy when he did not see his shadow.  :-)  Below is a sample of all the fun we had this week.

Groundhog tree map, circle map and writing.

Groundhog Circle Map

Groundhog tree map.  My students are getting so good at writing using tree maps.  In fact, even when they have free writing time, they are choosing to write again from the tree maps.

Groundhog prediction chart.  We had so much fun predicting if the groundhog would see his shadow.  Ms. Baggs and I even voted.  They were so excited.  I think the other classes could hear them screaming and clapping with delight.

Groundhog worksheet.  We were so excited when that we got to circle Spring.
